Her stage debut came in 1990 with an Off-Broadway production of The Big Funk directed by John Patrick Shanley. The following year, she was cast in her first role on TV in The Perfect Tribute. In 1992, she played as a support character in Basic Instinct the film, her career started to take off. The Firm marked her first role as a female leading actress, opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman.
