Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television personality in the United States as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde hair and an ebullient personality, explains how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell was employed in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine traditions and landscape. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. She pursued her passion for working in the restaurant business by enrolment in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every moment." I couldn't learn enough couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. When I graduated of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids with disabilities. She is a frequent guest to speak at conferences and tours throughout the United States to mentor others in her task. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has always said I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share what I love most for life with people.
